Anne Swithinbank at Handcross

Well-known horticulturist, Anne Swithinbank, paid a visit from her home in rural East Devon to a fund-raising event held at High Beeches in Handcross.
Anne trained at the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Kew, before moving on to her career as a freelance gardening broadcaster and writer. She is most well known for her appearances on BBC’s Gardeners’ World, and as a regular panellist on Gardeners’ Question Time.
Two more photographs can be viewed by clicking on Open Document.
In the second photograph Anne is seen chatting with Nora Ray from the village. Knowing my mother rather well, I wonder if they are discussing flowers or how to stuff cuddly toys?
