Masonic lodge at Red Lion

There seems to be a gathering outside the Red Lion of perhaps a friendly society or Masonic lodge. The banner depicts a grieving widow kneeling by a gravestone with the motto “We succour the widow & orphans.” I suggest the gathering may be from the Ancient Order of Foresters, but any comments would be welcome.

Roads - Handcross - High Street (South)
A Large Version of the photograph has been added to provide a close up of the banner and the band. I suspect the fellow at bottom left is a gate-crasher!
