Colwood Lodge, Warninglid

Just a quarter of a mile west of the crossroads in Warninglid is Colwood House with a traditional lodge house guarding the entrance to the estate.
A type of Virginia Creeper is starting to envelope the house, and I wonder if the picture was taken in the autumn when the leaves would have been bright scarlet.
Of the two gates, the right-hand one has been removed, but I am pleased to note that the very substantial chimneystack is still in place today.
The driver of the car, possibly an Austin 10 around 1945, has stopped for a chat. The registration letters, FCV, were used in Cornwall on a couple of occasions in the last century.
