The Street, Warninglid

In the far distance is Rose Cottage, the sole surviving building of those shown in this photograph of The Street, Warninglid.
Just beyond the signpost pointing along Warninglid Lane is the old Post Office Stores, now the front lawn of Rose Cottage.
On this side of the crossroads stand five cottages and details of their history can be found attached to picture #268. They may have been small with quite a few draughts and spiders, but I suspect that there would be no problem in finding tenants if they were still standing.
The registration number of the old van is NJ 6269 and was issued by East Sussex CC between October 1935 and October 1936. No MOTs then!
