British Legion Beauty Queen 1963

At the annual Poppy Day dance in November 1963 in the Parish Hall the British Legion Beauty Queen was chosen by a panel of judges headed by Margot, Machioness of Reading from Staplefield Grange.
The winner was Sylvia Tomsett from Truggers, Handcross who now lives in South West France close to her sister, Mary.
The two runners-up were Janet Leggatt from Crawley, and Janet Holmes from Covert Mead, Handcross.
