Family game of stoolball

This photograph of a family game of stoolball was taken on 5th June 1891, but I do not know the precise location except it was “near Bolney”. It may well not be in the area covered by the website, but, despite the lack of clarity, it has been included as it is a very early photograph.
It is interesting to note that the wickets are round, which I assume was the usual shape during that era, or perhaps a local variation.
The ladies are hardly dressed for a sporting activity; somewhat of a handicap, I think!
