Great Storm damages car in Handcross

At the top of Coos Lane someone parked their pride and joy, a Ford Capri, in what they thought was a safe place for the night. After all, the weather forecaster had said “Apparently a lady rang the BBC and said she heard there was a hurricane on the way. Well, don’t worry if you’re watching, there isn’t.”
Unfortunately, the date was 15th October 1987 and this was the scene after the tree had been cleared away. The remaining trunk is leaning over a bit, trying not to look too guilty!

I've asked around and it seems the car is more probably a squashed Toyota Celica.
