Handcross football team 1903

This professionally-produced photograph is of the Handcross football club from the 1902/03 season.
From the left, back row: S. C. Ball (Hon. Treasurer), R. Dancey, H. Etherton, O. Hart (Vice-Captain), H. D. Elliott (S. C. R.)
Middle row: A. O. Hemsley, G. Shearlock, A. Constable.
Front row: A. Boniface, R. Shearlock (Captain), H. E. Ireland (Hon. Sec.), E. Hemsley, G. F. Elliott.
I cannot work out what the “S. C. R.” acronym means behind Mr Elliott’s name. Any ideas?
No doubt the shirts would have been the quartered amber and black, being the traditional colours for Handcross. By present-day standards, the shorts are rather a misnomer!
The Large Version shows a close up.
