Hill View Tea Rooms, HandcrossLocated in the High Street, Handcross, Hill View is the fifth cottage south of The Pine Loft.
The “J.A. Smith” sign refers to John Alan Smith who operated the business with his wife Ethel. John died in 1958, but Ethel continued to operate a knitting machine in a shed at the rear of the property producing jumpers and other knitwear for local residents. Ethel died in 1971.
