Handcross Band offers tuition to new recruits

Handcross Band suffered worrying times in the 1950s as they tried in vain to encourage youngsters in the village to join the band. Regular members of the band offered to give tuition to any new recruits. Many of the young, it seems, found the youth club and the scouting movement more to their liking.
