Ashfold Farmhouse, Handcross

As was his wont, John Smith from Lower Ashfold, Coos Lane, Slaugham, produced Christmas cards with photographs of local scenes on the main page.
For the Christmas of 1948 he chose a photograph of Ashfold Farmhouse in the Horsham Road, Handcross, taken from a point to the west of the house.
Initially I thought the pile of wood in the foreground was of fencing stakes, but on closer inspection I think it must be firewood.
