Handcross Home Guard in the mess

After the serious business of practising manoeuvres, rifle drill and weapon training, the Handcross Home Guard retired to the mess, aka the master’s club at Ashfold School, for a three-course supper and a pint or two of ale. No doubt their wives were not kept fully informed about the high jinks enjoyed after the training!
