High Street, Handcross

A few more modern cars can be seen in this photograph of the High Street dated April 1951 but the great increase in road traffic had yet to begin. I am not sure what can be interpreted from the change, but the sweet shop has now over-written the “Refreshments” sign, replacing it with “Tobacconist”.
