Children in Horsham Road, Handcross

All fourteen of Warren Cottages can be seen in this photograph of the Horsham Road, Handcross. What a good job there was no double-decker bus service to Horsham in those days! Even a loaded hay cart would have a job getting under the overhanging branches.
The children have found a jolly good place to play; you don’t see that much these days!
This is a “real photograph” and usually this would indicate that the picture is of the highest quality. However this one was very dark and badly scratched, but I have repaired it as best I can.
Despite the inferior quality of the picture the Large Version shows a close up of the children, with a couple of parents keeping an eye on them.
