Fifteen members of the Handcross and District British Legion have gathered on Remembrance Sunday to lay a wreath at the war memorial on Staplefield Common.
Amongst the members lined up on the left are:- 1 Vic Newnham, 3 Bill Stafford, 4 Sid Sargent, 8 Joe Ray, 12 Bob Dench, 13 Roger Ray.
No. 7 is hidden behind No. 6. Only the top inch of his head is visible.
A total of eighteen servicemen from Staplefield loss their lives in the two World Wars and their names can be seen in picture #294 and picture #295.
