British Legion dinner and entertainment

The Handcross and District British Legion held their first post-war dinner with entertainment in the Staplefield Village Hall, decorated by a huge Union Flag overlooking the assembly.
The photograph has been taken from the local newspaper and the quality is somewhat less than perfect! Please can anyone supply a proper photograph of the event?
Despite the lack of clarity I can recognise white-haired John Robins close to the lower right corner, with Les Pateman next to him. On the extreme left of the picture is Roger Ray, sitting next to his brother, Joe Ray.
As one might expect in the 1950s there were significant representations from both World Wars.
The entertainment was varied and was led by compère and conjurer, David Nixon.
