Thirty four members of the Haywards Heath Division of the East Sussex Constabulary assemble outside Burgess Hill police station for their photograph which appeared in the Mid Sussex Times.
P.C. Steve Message occupied the Police House in Handcross and patrolled the villages covered by this website.
He is positioned third from the left in the middle row. More photographs of him can be seen at picture #360.
A typical police station lantern of the period hangs outside the building.
