Cattle in Horsham Road, Pease Pottage

There is a lot going on in the picture as the lady in the front garden watches a herd of cattle being driven along Horsham Road. Not to be recommended nowadays! There are two horse-drawn carts parked in front of the Black Swan. The white bell tents in the distance belong to the army which used the field as a transit camp in the early part of the Great War.
