New residents of Truggers, Handcross

This picture shows Handcross band member and conductor, Stan Gasson, playing Christmas carols in the High Street, Handcross in 1957.
I have dated this item at an earlier year, however, as it was on 20th September 1948 that Stan and his wife, Joan, moved into the brand-new No. 11 Truggers. They had previously been living in Tilgate Forest Row, Pease Pottage.
The Large Version shows a much-enlarged aerial view of Truggers taken in 1983.

I am not sure if anyone tried to contravene the regulations regarding the keeping of “animals, fowls, or pigeons”, but from the aerial view it is clear that the tenants kept the gardens as required “in a clean and orderly manner”.
I am very grateful to Des Gasson for making these documents available.
