Nursing Association gathering at Hyde, Handcross

Mothers and babies from the district were invited by Slaugham and District Nursing Association to regular clinics to socialise and receive advice and assistance from the district nurse.
On this occasion they are gathered at the Hyde at its former cricket ground, later to be the location for the lawn tennis courts. Wearing her nursing hat is Queen’s Nursing Sister Elsie Warner.
Of the children standing, I am fourth from the left in a Fair Isle cardigan. My mother, Nora Ray (née Longhurst) is close by on her knees!
I can recognise no others, but surely someone can add more names!
An earlier picture of a similar event can be seen at picture #1322.
The Large Version shows a close up.
