Scouts attend St George's Day parade

The scout troops of Mid-Sussex traditionally commemorated St George’s Day by attending a church service in a different local church each year. This time it was the turn of Bolney, and the 1st Slaugham scouts are seen here marching to the church.
1 Dennis Foord-Brown (Group Scoutmaster), 2 Tom Chamberlain, 3 Nick Boakes, 4 Brian Scott, 5 Unknown, 6 Ronald “Chubber” Newman, 7 John Vigar, 8 Roy Lane, 9 Derek Mitchell (?), 10 Geoffrey Voice, 11 Ian Hardern, 12 Rex Ray (?), 13 Robin Boniface, 14 Obscured, 15 David Mitchell, 16 Sid Sargent (Assistant Scoutmaster).
Great supporters of the local scouts over many years were Arthur Chamberlain, walking alongside the parade, and Reg Leppard, on his bike.
