Warninglid school centenary and new classroom

Warninglid school celebrated its centenary in September 1978, and, as a warm up to that event. a third classroom was officially opened in July of that year.
The picture shows the County Director of Education, accompanied by Oliver Longley, chairman of the school managers, and, on the right, headmaster Don Sinclair.
Click on Open Document to view a newspaper cutting of the event to which many old pupils attended and offered their own memories of life at the school from earlier years.
The newspaper report includes a photograph showing three pupils, Charles Dewry, David Frewer and Brian Hillier, listening intently to the enthralling speeches made by the visiting dignitaries!
