Ethel Jupp with son, Jack

Percy Jupp’s wife, Ethel, is seen here proudly holding their young son, John, but later known as Jack, on the day of his christening.
John was born on 31st May 1929 but, alas, he suffered from a blood disorder and passed away on 22nd February 1949, aged just 19. Further details of his short life can be found at picture #620. I still have the shove halfpenny board that Jack made.
The family lived at 11, Warren Cottages, Handcross and the picture was taken in the front garden, then enclosed with a picket fence.
The Large Version is a picture of Ethel taken inside the house. The photograph may be quite grainy, but it is pleasant to come upon an unposed interior picture.
