Bernie and Colin Miles on a Sunday School outing

Looking very smart in their fetching sandals are Colin and Bernie Miles waiting excitedly for the coach to leave on a Sunday School outing, probably to Littlehampton. It was not far from Handcross to the Sussex coast, which was just as well as the coach had a 30 mph speed limit!
The coach was supplied by the Plummers Plain garage operated by “Bunny” Carter.
Select Open Document to view two pictures. The first is of Bernie and Colin Miles standing beside the old scout hut just beyond the last house on the right on the Brighton Road. (See picture #1545) I think some of the pre-war cars would have had to drop a couple of gears to tackle the hill.
The second picture shows Bernie and Colin standing in the front garden of where they lived at 20, Truggers.
The Large Version shows a close up of the photograph overlooking the top of Handcross Hill.
