Drawing of St. Mary's church, Slaugham

I can find no record of when this drawing was created but the view can be said to be timeless as very little has changed since! However, perhaps the car park is now somewhat larger and the churchyard has since gained a flagpole.
The Rev. Francis Jacomb-Hood was Rector of Slaugham from 1929 to 1946 and he also held many important offices in the Parish including Chairman of the Slaugham group of schools, and founder Honorary Secretary of the Handcross and District British Legion.
After leaving Slaugham he undertook a few more official duties before he died in May 1960. Rev. Edward Bradbrooke conducted his funeral service at Slaugham.
Select Large Version to read a newspaper cutting of the funeral, which includes a list of the local people who attended.
