This photograph has already been posted as picture #807, but it was of lesser quality and has been replaced by the one above.
In the early 1970s, Sir Gawaine Baillie purchased the house and, somewhat surprisingly, demolished the house and replaced it with a significantly more modern property. (See other details at picture #809)
At the top of the steps leading down to the lower lawn are, what seem to be, two huge stone balls. Did they survive the demolition gang? Do they still adorn the garden?
