Woodhurst - The Lily Pond

The picture is of the Lily Pond at Woodhurst in Pease Pottage and was taken in March 2016 to provide a comparison with the images of the same pond almost 90 years earlier.
In the centre of the far bank one can just make out the sluice through which the water used to flow out to the now abandoned rock garden
The Large Version from 1927 shows the path heading from the house in a southwesterly direction towards the Lily Pond.
Select Open Document to view three pictures from 1927. The first shows the view of the pond upon arrival from the house. The second shows a close up of the lilies with a ghostly image of a fair maiden waving at the cameraman from the far side. The third shows a general view of the pond.
