The launch of the Slaugham Parish community bus

The cutting is from the Leader free newspaper and reports that about 150 people assembled in the Red Lion car park in Handcross to watch the launch of the local community bus.
It will serve the five villages covered by this website, plus Lower Beeding and Plummers Plain.
Various important dignitaries turned up for the event, including Mrs Daphne Simpson, chairman of the Slaugham Parish Council.
Sitting at the wheel is John Helmore, and standing next to the bus is Dr. Rob Morris.
The Large Version shows the complete newspaper cutting.
