Morris Register cars at Fountain Inn, Handcross

I used to police the Morris Register annual London to Brighton run outside The Fountain Inn, seeing the vehicles out of the rear car park. The Fountain was a pit-stop for the club en route to Brighton.
A plastic plaque was give to all competitors, and also one to the pub which were all mounted above the saloon bar.
In subsequent years this changed to a commemorative horse brass, and I was given one for my efforts.
The first year following my retirement in January 1996 I was presented with a leather-mounted horse brass inscribed to the rear.
The route for the rally was probably changed shortly afterwards passing down the B2036, and I believe the pitstop was The Cowdray Arms.
In the background can be seen the old sports pavilion, since demolished, with its wooden extension which, I think, housed the showers.
