St Martin des Besaces

In complete contrast to picture #1720, here is a view of St Martin des Besaces much as it looks today.
On the left, the modern building replaced those completely destroyed during the fierce fighting of 1944. Beyond are the Hotel des Voyeurs on the left, and La Renaissance Hotel and Bar on the right.
The Large Version shows a close up.
Select Open Document for a similar view from the 1960s, with a classic Citroen DS car on the right behind the van. The dormer windows in the roof of the building on the right seem to have been removed when compared to the later photograph.
With thanks to David Pearce for supplying this picture.
