The photograph is of the presentation of the raffle prizes organised by Peter Simpson of Brook Cottage. Peter can be seen dressed in black on the right of the picture under the tree.

There is one other photograph of that year’s Street Fair, taken behind the white gate, which can be seen by clicking on Open Document.

Comments:
The lady looking at the camera wearing blue socks is Jenny Brewer who lived next door to the hardware shop in Handcross in Stuart House.
Is the lady sitting in the chair Mrs Eileen Leadbetter?

Is the lady lower left with the cup Mrs Joyce Legg, wife of Frank, of Legg Engineering who lived in Archpool for some time and run the factory where the entrance to Windmill Platt now is?
I remember that he used to ride his horse, Maximillian, along the High Street. He was kept in the field where Windmill Platt is now located.
Their daughter, Sally, used to ride with the hunt.
