Slaugham Furnace Pond (4 of 11)

By the time this photograph was taken in the 1950s the trees and vegetation around the Furnace Pond had grown to form a natural amphitheatre around the pond.
The photograph was taken from the car park in the Slaugham part of the pond. The boundary between the parishes of Slaugham and Lower Beeding runs north-south through the lake and therefore most of what you see above is in the Lower Beeding Parish!
The Large Version is almost identical, but for the sake of completeness both have been uploaded.
In 1950 Mrs Tulley had more thoughts on the Furnace Pond and the wild flowers growing on the Common. (See picture #1860)
