Staplefield Church Flower Festival (1 of 2)

Over the weekend of 19th and 20th October 2013 a Flower Festival was held in St Mark’s Church in Staplefield; the last one being held in 1971, some 42 years previously!
Shown above are Brenda Rowe, Jackie Church, and Rev. Gary Simmons. It was Brenda’s proposal to the Church Warden and the P.C.C. in the first instance and she was ably assisted by Jackie and Gary and dozens of other flower arrangers and sponsors.
The idea came to Brenda when she realised that her family had been resident in Staplefield, through the Constable and Rowe lines, for 100 years and she wanted a way to commemorate this achievement.
The Large Version shows Brenda standing beside one of the flower arrangements.
