Children standing under the lych gate at Slaugham

This is a poor quality photograph of some children standing under the lych gate at Slaugham Church. A note on the reverse tells us the date was November 1903, with the name of Mrs Cheall added.
The gate had only been erected earlier that year and therefore it was quite a novelty at the time. Full details of the gate, and a much clearer photograph, can be seen at picture #577.
On the left stands the Old White Horse Inn; what a splendid place for a pub! Another picture and some history of the pub can be found at picture #473.
The Large Version shows a close up of the children, but there is little chance of them being identified!
