Col. Giles Harold Loder of High Beeches, Handcross died in Cannes on 1st February, 1966 aged 82.
He never married and devoted his whole life to just two topics, High Beeches and his love of horses in equal measure.
The Large Version shows a newspaper cutting announcing his death in France which concentrated almost exclusively on his horse racing activities.
