Post office stores, Slaugham

Victor Kensett and his family stand outside the Slaugham post office and stores. An impressive street light has been installed to guide customers to the shop in the dark; probably the only form of outside lighting in the village. The invasive Virginia creeper, or similar, has now taken a hold and the sign mentioned in the previous picture has been completely covered. The most striking aspect of the foliage is the manner it has engulfed the impressive and substantial porch which can be seen foliage-free in picture #197 after the plant had died back in the autumn. The Large Version link shows a close-up of Mr Kensett and family.
