Albino peacock on the run in Handcross

In June 2017 there was a bit of a flap in Handcross when an albino peacock went walk about in the village. The photograph shows the bird displaying its full plumage in a resident’s garden.
After several days on the loose it was captured and taken away to a safe home in Kent to avoid it becoming just another statistic in the road casualty figures!
The Daily Mail reported on the incident and the cutting can be seen by selecting Large Version.
