Opening of scout headquarters (1 of 2)

The 1st Slaugham Scout Group lost their headquarters at Handcross Park but they were delighted when their president, Mrs Eveline Warren of the Hyde, came to the rescue and offered them the use of the former cricket pavilion on the estate which was to be shared by the village tennis club.
A formal handing over of the pavilion took place in 1958 with many scouts and cubs attending, together with several visitors from the local scouting movement.
Details of earlier buildings used by the scout troup can be found with picture #1545.
The photograph shows Mrs Warren inspecting the parade.
