Colwood House (2 of 2)

The picture is of the rear of Colwood House overlooking the garden. As is befitting of such a property the garden furniture looks of excellent quality and very comfortable!
The dates of this, and the previous photograph, have been estimated, but here follows a list of occupiers of the house around the turn of the century who may have been in residence when the pictures were taken. The information has been taken from Kelly’s and other trade directories.
1891 Right Honorable Sir Charles Synge Christopher Bowen, Baron Bowen of Colwood (1835-1894)..
1895 Lady Bowen
1899 and 1905 Frank Hurst, who worked in the Stock Exchange. His gardener was George Upton.
1915 John James William Miller. The farm bailiff was Arthur Buckwell.
The Large Version shows a close up.
