Handcross High Street and Fountain Inn

The photograph is a recent acquisition to the collection, but from a completely different era compared to today!
There are only two other pictures on the website of the Fountain Inn from the early part of the last century and they can be seen at picture #458 and picture #459. Also both have been used in a short heart-rending video at picture #1670.
Also in the photograph are several children and two babies in prams. There were no low-slung pushchairs then, only prams with huge spindly wheels supporting the child many feet above ground level.
Beyond the children on the right there seems to be a horse; a more common mode of transport in the High Street than the present day!
The Large Version shows a close up of the main figures.
