Handcross Choral and Orchestral Societies (3 of 6)On 19th February 1932 the Handcross Choral and Orchestral Societies presented a concert version of “Merrie England” featuring a cast of 54 singers, musicians and characters, an alarming number for the modest-sized Parish Hall! Methinks no artificial amplification was needed!
The full programme can be viewed by selecting Open Document. The efforts to repair the document sometime in the last 85 years were somewhat less that successful!
The Large Version shows a newspaper cutting reporting on the Handcross Choral Society’s successes gained at the 1937 Lewes Music Festival. To me, I am reminded of a school report!
