The ruins of Nymans house from the gardens

This postcard of the Nymans ruins and garden was posted in 1982, but probably taken in an earlier decade.
On the right is the magnificent Monkey Puzzle tree which was planted in about 1860 but was a victim of the Great Storm in October 1987. The tree features in a short video of Nymans and The Great Storm which can be viewed by clicking on picture #2111.
The Large Version shows a close up.
Select Open Document to view a cutting of 1988 from the Mid Sussex Times which shows a picture of the Nymans house taken before the fire in 1947. A similar picture of the house can be seen at picture #37.
