West Lodge, Handcross and school children

Here is a photograph of the London Road in Handcross with the West Lodge of Handcross Park on the right.
With the sun coming from the west it is almost certainly the end of the school day with pupils leaving to make their way home. The school is hidden behind the trees and situated about 100 yards beyond the lodge on the left. It is refreshing to see no huge 4x4s creating chaos at the school entrance!
The very tall chimney on the lodge is a wondrous sight, and I am a little disappointed to note that the edifice has been reduced in height sometime in the intervening years.
The Large version shows a close up of part of the photograph.
