Opening of Listers estate in Warninglid

This year of 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Listers estate in Warninglid. The official opening of the estate in 1968 has already been covered on the website and a better copy of the main photograph of this newspaper cutting can be seen at picture #553.
The above photograph also appeared in the newspaper and shows a general view of the estate with officials and council members gathered outside for the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.
The estate was named after Major John J. Lister (1859-1943) who, with his wife, Gertrude C. Lister (1862-1917), lived in Warninglid Grange. According to the 1891 census, also living in the Grange were his two parents and a mere eight servants!
The Large Version shows the complete newspaper cutting.
