Frederick Bennett of Ashfold estate

The original photograph is badly faded and damaged but it has been enhanced and repaired to warrant its appearance here.
The younger boy is my father, Peter A Brown, now 94 years of age, and on the right is his older brother, James P Brown.
The man with the mower is 68-year-old Frederick Bennett (c. 1857-1930) who worked for the Ashfold estate and lived with his wife, Miriam, in one of the two lodge houses, probably North Lodge located opposite Truckers Hatch Cottages.
The Census return for 1911 informs us that one of his jobs was managing the private gasworks (picture #2115) for the now-demolished Ashfold house.
It seems quite likely that soon after this picture was taken, Mr Bennett returned to Tonbridge, Kent, where he spent his early life. It is recorded that he died there in 1930, aged 74.
