Handcross show and sports day 1932 (1 of 2)

Promoted by the Slaugham and Staplefield Horticultural Society their annual show and sports day took place in the Handcross Recreation Ground at the end of July 1932.
The pillow fight was open to all ages and the photograph shows 17-year-old Frank Brown on the left sizing up his opponent, his younger brother 16-year-old, Leslie “Dick” Brown.
Frank went on to beat 24-yeat-old Sidney Blaby in the final.
