Deer shoot at Pease Pottage

Probably the photograph was taken on the Tilgate Estate as several of the gamekeepers and others attending the deer shoot lived on the estate or in Pease Pottage village.
From the left, standing: 2 Charles “Chadder” Gates, 7 Guy “Gerry” Ray, 8 Thomas “Froggy” Gates, 9 Alan “Mac” McDonald.
Front row: 1 Jack Coombes, 2 Charles Martin, 3 Ernest “Sammy” Gates, 4 Charles Kent.
Chadder and Froggy were twins and I am grateful to Margaret Cornell (née Gates), Froggy’s daughter, for assisting with the names.
The Large Version shows a close up.
