New housing development West Park Road, Handcross

Following the completion of the self-build housing scheme (picture #926 and picture #1996) the next development in Handcross was the extension of the West Park Road housing project, comprising 29 new homes..
In 1984 to celebrate its completion a sherry reception was held in 67 West Park Road, being the new home for its tenants, Norman and Janet Bridger.
The photograph above was taken with a backdrop of 31, 33 and 35 West Park Road. Representing local interest was Roger Ray, on the left, wearing the badge of the Chairman of the Slaugham Parish Council.
The large Version shows the full newspaper cutting. You will notice that the cutting shows the newly-planted tree and newly-constructed houses all leaning to the left. I was sufficiently irked to correct this in the above picture!
A similar cutting from another local newspaper can be found by selecting Open Document.
