Further to picture #2392, here is another picture of Madame Florence.
The Large Version shows a close up of Florence and a large number of attendants and spectators. There are two policemen on duty to control the crowd and make sure that Madame Florence does not exceed the speed limit!
Select Open Document to view a report of the spectacle written by Meg Kensett of Slaugham who was attending Handcross school when Florence passed by.
I note that Meg says that the journey came to an end at Handcross, but my father’s version says that Florence made it to Brighton. Will we ever know the truth?
