Warninglid - Brighton Road

On the left is Hazeldean Farm on the London to Brighton road facing north towards the site of the present flyover 150 yards away. The farmhouse was demolished in about 1938 as part of the road-widening scheme, and the materials were used in the building of the new farmhouse a short distance away. Please can anyone confirm whether in 1914 the farmer’s name was Mr Tyler as suggested on the face of the postcard. The small horse-drawn vehicle appears to be making a delivery from Bolney, but coming from the north is a much larger travellers van with a chimney, two horses and a dog. Outside the farmhouse is a sign “Milk sold here”.
